Medavie Blue Cross raises over $144,600 for United Way

Employees of Medavie Blue Cross put their bosses in jail, wore their jammies to work and showcased their respective talents to raise more than $144,600 for the United Way in October. This includes $99,610 from employee fundraising and a $45,000 corporate donation.

Employees in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, Ontario and Quebec participated in payroll deductions and various fundraising activities. In Moncton, employees raised $1,291 through the Jail Your Boss event, where the bosses were sent to jail for up to 30 minutes.

"The funds we've raised will ultimately help many families lead healthier lives and give our children more opportunities for a brighter tomorrow," said Ruth Rappini, vice-president of organization development for Medavie Blue Cross.
