Business and behavioural coach Barry Braun will conduct a free two-hour workshop next Monday, Nov. 9, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Moncton Coliseum.

Braun is owner of Business Pathways and a coach, consultant and motivator. The free seminar is being offered as a promotion to main product, Extraordinary Lives, a two-day workshop, which promises to help people step from ordinary lives into extraordinary lives.

NB Tourism entrants win awards

Seven entrants from New Brunswick were selected as winners of the 2009 Tourism Industry Association of Canada National Awards for Tourism Excellence, representing the best of Canada's tourism industry.

The winners are: My Trip Planner, New Brunswick Tourism and Parks and T4G Ltd. (Online Innovation Award); Sandra Phinney (Tourism Toronto Travel Media Award); Karl Doestch of the Delta Fredericton (Employee of the Year Award); edVentures of Fredericton (Innovator of the Year Award); Pacrim Hospitality Services of Fredericton (Business of the Year Award); and the Cape Jourimain Nature Centre (Parks Canada Sustainable Tourism Award); Department of Tourism and Parks and lg2 (Marketing Campaign of the Year Award).

Dieppe building permits top $5M in October

The value of construction permits in Dieppe for October was over $5.1 million according to statistics from the Building Inspection Services of the City of Dieppe.

Building Inspection Services delivered 43 building permits in October, 38 of which were residential for a value of more than $4.8 million. The value of permits for the first ten months of the year was $61 million with 442 units created.

Tech student honoured

One of New Brunswick's top talented technology students was honoured by Education Minister Roland Haché as part of Skilled Trades and Technology Week 2009.

Haché presented Jason Valdron, a recent graduate of L'Ecole Secondaire Negisiguit in Bathurst, with a banner on behalf of Skills Canada.

The banner will be hung in the school to recognize Valdron's gold medal win in the website development competition at the Skills Canada competition in 2008. Valdron went on to be named to Team Canada 2009, where he won a silver medal earlier this fall in the international competition in Calgary. More than 900 competitors took part in 45 skills competitions.
