National Steel Car workers face layoffs
Published Thursday July 2nd, 2009

HAMILTON, ONT. - Just days after ending a bitter strike, National Steel Car workers in Hamilton now face the spectre of layoffs.
The rail car maker said yesterday it will cut up to 600 workers over the coming weeks as it reaches the end of its existing order book.
The layoff could be relatively short, however, if National Steel Car lands a sizable new order.
