A local family-run business is helping put Sussex on the map after building an award winning all-in-one heating, cooling and ventilation appliance called the Matrix. NY Thermal’s Matrix total home system incorporates the functions of a furnace, water heater, boiler, and efficient heat recovery ventilator.

The company put four years and millions of dollars into designing the Matrix. The results include an award for NY Thermal called the eKOCOMFORT Award given by Natural Resources Canada.

Jason Thompson of NY Thermal said the recognition is helping to get the word out there. “As a result of the award we’re noticing more interest,” he said.

The Matrix is the first system to qualify for the new CSA standards and its premium design helped it surpass CSA’s requirements.

“It’s very desirable for builders who want to save money on installation,” Thompson said.

Thompson said builders are always looking for a product that is marketable and efficient, and the Matrix is both.
