Blaine Higgs, the present premier of New Brunswick, must have started to write his memoirs. His days as prime minister of the province are fewer with every day that goes by.

Higgs has become very impatient with several of his ministers. This is a sure sign that he is preparing his exit. In my view, only Daniel Allain, an MLA from the Moncton area and who is fluently bilingual, would have a chance to replace Higgs.

Allain has done an outstanding job in reorganizing the municipal structure in the province during the last 18 months or so. There has been very little criticism of the major changes that he has convinced the citizens to accept and he did it by consulting and negotiating. This being said, he stands an excellent chance to replace Higgs as leader of the Progressive Conservatives.

Everything seems in place for a fall election in New Brunswick. The Leader of the Liberal party, MLA Susan Holt from the Fredericton area, has some very busy months ahead of her in order to bring back the Liberal Party to power this fall.

All in all, the next few months promise to be very interesting in our province.

Small acts of kindness are encouraging

Recently while out shopping , I was going through the cash and there was a lady before me, paying for her items. I had three items and the lady before me looked at me, and asked ‘Is that all you got?’ I said yes it was. My order would have only come 10 approximately $15 bucks or so, and I did have sufficiant money on me, but she went ahead and paid for my order. She didnt have to, but she did.

Then the girl right after me paid for the next person’s order, again it was just a few things but it really made for a good day. I thanked the lady and went on my way.

So when I hear about murders, robberies, and more, it’s good to hear of these great stories. You dont hear them nearly enough.

Again, to that lady who was so kind, I hope you know how much you made my day.
