Elizabeth Louis Lemmer-Benedix, 71, also known as Lisa Benedix, is charged with using a firearm without taking reasonable precautions for the safety of other people, pointing a firearm at Gisele Arsenault and Lenny Clodore, discharging a firearm at Arsenault with the intent to wound and discharging a firearm while knowing or being reckless as to whether another person was present.

Lemmer-Benedix was in Moncton provincial court on Friday and pleaded not guilty to the first three charges and the trial was set for June 9-10, 2025, in provincial court . She elected trial in the Court of King’s Bench for the two indictable charges of discharging a firearm and a preliminary inquiry will be held on Oct. 25 to determine if there’s enough evidence to order her to stand trial.

The accused has undergone a a psychiatric assessment and the evaluation found that she was not suffering from a mental disorder at the time that would render her not criminally responsible for her actions.
