Cash for camp: Charles Guitard of the Fredericton Canadian Tire store presents a $6,000 cheque to Marion Brien, president of the Fredericton Rotary Club to support for Camp Rotary. This is the second donation as part of a commitment of $18,000 to Camp Rotary.
Camp successful, fun: More than 80 campers joined with their parents, grandparents, families and friends to celebrate a fun-filled week of Parachuting with the Angels during summer bible camp organized by St. Dunstans parish in Fredericton. 21 Inc.: Fredericton-Silverwood MLA Rick Miles presented Tim Coates and Annick Roy of 21 Inc. with a cheque for $30,000 from the regional development corporation.
Funding wellness: Fredericton-Silverwood MLA Rick Miles presents Laura Swift-Christie, president of Sport New Brunswick with a cheque for $12,500 from the department of Wellness Culture and Sport.
Course graduates: Recently York Care Centre held a graduation ceremony for members of the most recent resident attendant course. This six-week course consists of two weeks of classroom instruction and four weeks of clinical training before certification is awarded. Hairs to you: Marguerite Cote, 9, recently donated more than eight inches of her hair to cancer patients. She had been inspired more than a year ago when she saw a picture in The Daily Gleaner, of a little girl who did the same thing.
