DOES IT MATTER NOT MUCH, Fredericton on 13/11/08 03:04:20 PM AST
When Rambo goes hunting the game heads for safer surroundings!

Some animals aren't as dumb as some of the people who go out to kill them!

I wonder how many people would still go hunting IF the wildlife could shoot back?

Recently took a walk through a huge sporting goods store and the equipment these hunters use today the wildlife haven't got a chance.

Everything from ATV's to trailers to haul the game out with. Night vision binoculars deer scent you name it!

Why would a honest hunter want night vision binoculars? Hunting after dark is illegal!

After you equip yourself including gas, licence, gun and ammo HOW much a pound does that meat cost you?

I know it costs a lot more than the meat at your local grocery store!

Sad it really is! And to think I use to hunt also until the fur brains out in the woods made it unsafe anymore! Just heard a story about a guy who fired at 2 other hunters HE THOUGHT they were 2 bears.

Scary it really is!

There are many good, honest decent people who enjoy hunting. I think it may be a little unfair to categorize all hunters as "dumb". For most, myself included, it's not just about "that pound of meat". I don't disagree with the fact that there are far too many hunters that take advantage of all the new technology, but there are still many who just enjoy getting out into the woods, and spending time with frinds, enjoying our beautiful country.

Hey NB MAN I did not call all hunters dumb. I did point out that there are SOME who should not be out there hunting. Some of them want a deer SO BAD they end up seeing deer WHERE THERE ARE NO DEER!

Many years ago my brother was walking up a hydro line wearing red and was shot at! He hit the ground rolled over on his back and emptied his rifle in the air!

Laid there for a few minutes re-loaded and went up to where he figured the shots were coming from only thing there were the spent casings!

To this day he has never hunted again because he said IF those guys had of still been there it scares me to think what I would have done to them!!!

Hey man I still go into the woods armed only with a camera! The hunt is basicly the same exept nothing gets killed and I now get a lot more joy seeing a live deer running in the wild THAN I ever did seeing it laying there lifeless at my feet on the ground bleeding!

I know some still enjoy killing but I don't really never did!

I would agree with the fact that some should not be allowed to hunt. I did miss the "some" in your original post. Sorry about that.

well I think it's ok to hunt and shoot a deer, moose, bear with an normal gun {riffle or bow.. its been done for generations and the way this friggin worlds going the ways of the past are being completely waiped out...I also think that we would be so over populated with theses big animals and human life would be even more at risk..When you go into theses stores and see theses hunting equiptment and supplies,it doesn't seem natural the sport like everything has gone way over bored its all a money grab.and people buy into it,People seem to forget the true old fashion way of hunting.everythings bigger and better theses days its a real shame. I come from a family of hunters and enjoyed my time spent safely in the woods..And im enjoying my moose meat this year..have a good day all.!!!

And that moose meat cost you how much a pound when you figure in all your costs?

Bottomline people who hunt get some kind of a rush out of killing something.

I use a camera! The thrill of the hunt is the same except the actual killing.

Some people get their rush from the killing part of hunting no doubt!

I don't and never did! Hunting to kill never did anything for me rush wise.

Getting out and enjoying the woods and the outdoors did!

Yes people use to hunt as a necessity THAT is no longer the case! We have advanced to a point where we can buy meat ""CHEAPER"" at a local {usually close by} store!

Most hunting excuses are lame to say the least! Overpopulation is one of them. Mother nature has a way of keeping the herds down last winters heavy snowfall being one of them.

Sue do you use an atv to go deep into the mooses territory? Do you tow a trailor behind your atv to haul moose out of the woods?

No doubt you do!

I use to hunt in Albert country. One area we hunted in was a road which was the border marking for Fundy National Park.

Up in New Ireland!

One year we had a light snowfall the night before the season opened.

The next morning I was walking along this park border road and there in the snow were the hoofprints of Deer crossing and going into the Park side of the road.

No hunting allowed in Fundy Park.

And they call animals dumb eh? Seems when they hear the first few shots at the start of hunting season THEY know where to go where it is safe!

Never forgot that! How would some of you avid hunter like to be the hunted? Would you still hunt IF the wildlife could shoot back?

In most sports there is a level playing field THAT IS WHY they call it sport! Hunting is not a true sport as per say!

What? 1200 Memramcookers didn't pile into the back of a pickup truck when they heard the story? Wait a minute, no wonder. There are already 750,000 of them in Riverview! Moosemeat poutines! And that's exactly how'd they say it in french too! Hypocrite idiots!
