WASHINGTON - A Justice Department spokeswoman says that Attorney General Michael Mukasey has been given a "clean bill of health" by doctors and is expected to check out of the hospital shortly.
Departmental spokeswoman Gina Talamona, briefing reporters on Mukasey's condition in the wake of his collapse during a speech last night, says he checked out well through a series of medical tests.
Talamona said "the results are in. Everything looks great."
She reported that the 67-year-old Mukasey had passed a treadmill stress test, a stress echocardiogram, and an MRI.
He is expected to leave George Washington University Hospital some time Friday and return to the Justice Department.
