Twelve seven-foot Christmas trees will be erected at Assumption Place, tomorrow, as part of a fundraising event.
Trees for a Brighter Future culminates with a gala evening Friday, Nov. 27, at the Delta Beausejour, where the trees and their decorations will be auctioned off to raise money for the Greater Moncton Association for Community Living. This is the fifth year of the fundraiser, which includes a silent auction and dinner. Last year, the event raised $33,000 with this year's goal set at $50,000.
The trees were donated by Kent Building Supples and McDonald's Restaurant with other organizations and groups invited to decorate a tree at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Assumption Place. The event is being organized by Scotiabank on behalf of the Greater Moncton Association of Community Living. The gala will begin at 6:30 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m., the tree auction at 8 p.m. and the silent auction at 9 p.m.
